I received this as an e mail this morning and was pretty horrified by the image below. It seems extraordinary that as we approach 2010 this still goes on.
We are talking about Denmark, and the contradiction is that they are currently hosting the world climate change conferance.
I received an e mail about the slaughter of whales in the Faroe Islands this morning. It is pretty grim.
Individually we can not make a differance but together we can. Please e mail this text to everyone you know if you feel as T & I do.
People talk about such things as part of the culture of the faroe island but that is no longer a good excuse.
Pilot whales are being slaughtered in the Faroe Islands (a province of Denmark). We have spoken out against the killing of marine mammals worldwide, and we encourage you to respond to our action alert on this subject at http://getactive.PETA.org/campaign/faroe_islands_whales. Please also see http://www.seashepherd.org/editorials/editorial_080610_1.html for more information.
Please urge the prime ministers of the Faroe Islands and Denmark and the High Commissioner of the Faroe Islands to take strong positions against this cruel whale slaughter.

We also encourage you to contact the Danish ambassador to your country to urge him or her to speak out against killing whales. You can find contact information at http://www.embassyworld.com <http://www.embassyworld.com/> .
Another great way to alert people to cases of cruelty to animals is to send letters to the editors of local newspapers and magazines. One letter from you can educate thousands of readers at once!
It was Gandi who said if you want to say something radical dress in a suit, so abusive mails and faxes do not forward the debate but well informed public revulsion certainly does.
